"EventCatalog helps to bridge the gap between a PO's business view and an Engineer's technical view"
Jan Wagebach, PRISMA, CTO
EventCatalog is an open source project built to be a self-hosted, transparent, and developer-first tool — clear plan limits, no unexpected overages, no vendor lock-in. To keep things simple, sustainable, and fair for everyone, we apply a fair use policy to some of our pricing tiers.
Rather than enforce strict technical limits, we trust teams to choose the plan that best reflects the scale and value they're getting from EventCatalog. We use team size, company stage, and governance needs as guidelines to help determine which tier is appropriate.
A catalog user is someone who regularly accesses your EventCatalog instance to read, create, manage, or collaborate on documentation.
Editor seats are different. They are for the people who maintain catalog content with EventCatalog Editor.
We define fair use based on typical team sizes:
That's a good thing! 🎉 If your usage consistently exceeds the fair use limits of your plan, we'll reach out to discuss an appropriate upgrade. We won't cut you off or block features — we just ask that you help support the project in proportion to the value you're getting.
